Continuing our aims to award excellence we will be giving £2000 to the Best Maker in the South West, The Candy Tiles Best Stand Award (£1000), The Best Newcomer Award (£500) and introducing for 2006, The Polka Dot Gallery Best Jeweller award (£500).
The Contemporary Craft Fair has attracted an impressive line up of leading craftspeople from the South West and from around the country including ceramics by Sasha Wardell, John Nuttgens and Virginia Graham, metal by Matthew Tomalin, silver by Brett Payne, jewellery by Abbot & Ellwood, Lesley Strickland, Tanja Ufer and Miranda Sharpe, textiles by Linda Miller, wood by Nick Barberton, glass by Potter Morgan plus much more more. It is now firmly established as one of the most prestigious craft events to be held in the UK.
With an exciting programme of events, The Contemporary Craft Fair promises to be bigger and better than before. The Contemporary Craft Fair, now in association with the Craft Council, represents 160 exceptional craftspeople exhibiting and selling their work. There is also an ambitious programme of educational initiatives taking place during the show.
There will be exciting opportunities to take part in workshops, listen to inspiring master classes, watch informative demonstrations and families can get really stuck into the Children’s Craft Tent!
There will also be on-site exhibitions by the Devon Guild of Craftsmen and by the Next Move participants, a Crafts Council initiative.
There will also be the Art of Learning marquee show casing the various educational courses throughout the South West.
The Contemporary Craft Fair is a truly inspirational mix of some of the finest crafts people in the UK. Come and
meet the makers of award winning ceramics, glass, silversmithing, jewellery, furniture, glass, textiles, metal, wood and
leather.
